Odd’s ‘Bio’:
Here is a short biography of what has happened to me since '64.Education: U. of Arizona 64-65
U. of Washington 65-69 (BSF in Forestry, BA in Latin-American Studies)
U. of Washington 74-77 (J.D. Law) Employment
summers of 64, 65 Recreation assistant, Wickenburg town park.
summers of 66, 67 Cruising timber, Forest Service, Yakima Washington
summers of 68, 74-77 Smokejumper, Forest Service, Cave Junction, Oregon. My father-in-law could understand jumping out of airplanes when the plane is on fire and the ground is safe, but the other way around?
US Army active duty: 69-74 (infantry, ranger, airborne, Special Forces; Ft. Benning Georgia, Germany, Vietnam, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.) I came in second in the Southeast Asian War Games.
Reserves: 78-97. (Special Forces, training battalion, school unit) Retired a lieutenant colonel in 96.
Law: Lane County Oregon District Attorney (assistant) 77-81. Dwyer, Simpson and Wold, Eugene, Oregon, 81-90. Wold & Hart, Albuquerque, NM 90-present.
Licensed in New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Oregon (inactive). I can presently commit malpractice in 3 different states!
I do tort law for plaintiffs. That is, I represent injured persons in all kinds of matters like auto accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, etc.Social
I changed my name in 1974 from "Odd Alexander Wold, Jr." to "Alexander Aud Wold, Jr." I thought it would be too difficult having to constantly explain my name. Besides, I had already heard all the jokes about it. When I changed the spelling of "Odd" I didn't realize that "Aud" is also a Viking name. "Odd" means the point of the spear. "Aud" means child of the night. I just thought I would completely eliminate the problem. 'Course my dad couldn't understand what problem I was talking about. I still respond to "Odd" from my old friends.
Married to Suzanne Tessaro 69-76. One child, Rebecca, who is a lawyer in Tacoma, Washington, and works as a clerk for a justice at the Court of Appeals. Has one daughter born last December. Figures, I had 3 sisters, no brothers, 3 daughters, no sons, now I have my first grandchild, a girl. I guess I was meant to be surrounded by women.
Married to Rosemary Shaw 79-present. Two children, Kirsten (17) and Alexis (15). Rosemary is a dietician. I have, with her help, been able to boil down all the dietary rules over the years to one sentence--if it tastes good, spit it out.
We have lived in Albuquerque since 90. Albuquerque is like Phoenix in the '50's without the heat. Nothing but sunshine. People here are very friendly, and those pesky bolo ties are not as common as in Arizona (neither are the cowboy boots, cowboy hats, thong sandals).
I enjoy outdoor activities. I am still very active physically. 3 years ago I did the Mt.. Taylor quadrathlon which involves biking, running, snowshoeing, and skiing to the top of Mt. Taylor and back from Grants NM (5,000 feet up and 27 miles one way) and came within an eyelash of breaking the record--doubled. Oh well, I finished at least.
